Guns founder Tracii Guns introduced guitarist Chris Weber to Hollywood loner Izzy Stradlin in the parking lot of the Rainbow Bar And Grill. After jamming together at Izzyâs place, the two decided to form a band and recruited a wild-eyed, red-haired vocalist, Bill Bailey, better known to most as Axl Rose. Together, these three pale-skinned lads drew inspiration from the diverse musical scene emerging in Hollywood and, with the help of drummer Johnny Kreis, recorded a demo of fiery glam rock tracks under the name Hollywood Rose. For years these demos have remained in the vault, never appearing on CD and secretly treasured by the few select fans who happened to purchase the cassette at the bandâs early performances. Now, Cleopatra records has brought these raw recordings to the masses, offering a glimpse into the beginnings of one of the greatest American rock bands of all time. As a special bonus, former Guns N Roses member, Gilby Clarke, takes these recordings back to the studio, polishing those rough edges to reveal the powerhouse talent beneath.
