Pygmy Children - Decontruct (CD)
Many people compare Pygmy Children to Skinny Puppy or Frontline Assembly ("FLA").
So what's so great about Pygmy Children? They take the BEST of those groups and add their own signature to it. Pygmy Children almost waters down the vocal style a tad (just a tad) enough to bring it closer to early Ministry or Nine Inch Nails. The instrumenation is superb; kind of a cross between FLA & early nine inch nails. Highly recommend the "deconstruct" album for anyone who likes the following albums: Ministry's "Twitch", NINs "Pretty Hate Machine", or Frontline Assembly's "Tactical Neural Implant".
Just the usual songs of death, disease, and destruction common in the shock industrial genre, Pygmy Children have a collection of songs here that would be at home next to your Skinny Puppy and Frontline Assembly CD's. Thru cathartic howling, searing electronics, and violent percussion, Pygmy Children paint a tempest like atmosphere of brutality and despair over a dying and decaying world and put their own stamp of terror in techno/dance music. Be sure to check out the singles Never and Collapser in particular.
